Actor Akshay Kumar was in his element as he unveiled the first look of his eighth film in the Khiladi franchise, Khiladi 786 on Thursday afternoon. The actor was seen tossing around a ball in hand, as he took the stage. A source revealed that those close to the actor know that he always carries a ball in his car and is often known to play with it too whenever he gets a chance. When asked, Akshay too confirms it.
“Yes, I always carry it around. I love sports, and whenever I get the chance, I do indulge in it,” says Akshay, revealing the offscreen khiladi streak in him. In fact, the new-dad-again shared that he always makes it a point to not only attend his son Aarav’s sports day in school, but also participate in the races meant for dads.
“I have never lost a race. And now Tina will expect me to run for Nitara’s races too a couple of years from now. Tina is very competitive, so I’d better win the races even when I’m 52!” he adds with a laugh. The actor who will be seen in an action avatar once again after his Rs100- crore hit Rowdy Rathore adds that the film is indeed special for him, as it marks his return to his Khiladi series.
Point out that it’s probably the only franchise in India to have had so many installments, and Akshay adds that he hopes that there will be more too. “I will continue doing action as long as I can do my own stunts,” says the action star, who’s known to have pulled off some of the riskiest stunts in Bollywood. Akshay’s upcoming film which sees him pair with Asin once again after their Rs100-crore hit Housefull 2 earlier is slated for a December release and also marks Himesh Reshammiya’s debut as a producer.
