It seems to be the week of comebacks. First it was Sridevi and now it is Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat who are returning with their latest venture ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’. Vivek Oberoi is among the more underrated actors in Bollywood. He has given good performances at regular intervals but he was more talked about due to his off-screen deeds.
The critics have always found him better in negative characters but he has done reasonable well in romantic films too. He was last seen in Hindi as Prathap Ravi in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rakht Charitra’ (2010). Vivek’s acting was appreciated in the film and now the actor is returning with ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’.
The film is about the adventures happened in Lokesh’s (Vivek Oberoi) life during one crazy night. Vivek Oberoi has played a college going boy in the film. The actor is aware of the fact that the audiences would doubt on his appearance and thus he has tried hard to match up to the expectations.
Mallika Sherawat is known for item numbers and cameo but this time she has been given a full-fledged role in ‘KLPD’, she will be seen as Lovina. Their connection starts at the Metro station where both of them miss the last train. From here begins a mad run which eventually makes Lokesh and Lovina fall in love.
This is director Sanjay Khanduri’s second film after ‘Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local’. His first film had Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia in the lead roles. Neha will be seen in ‘KLPD’ too in a small role. Ashutosh Rana is playing an important role in ‘KLPD’ and the trailers suggest that Rana is going to be seen in a comic role. Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat have potential but they need a good script to showcase their talent. One can just hope ‘KLPD’ turns out to be that script.
