What a month it has been so far! Delhi Belly set the momentum in early July with its stupendous run, followed by Murder 2 which has gone on to be a hit despite being panned by many critics. And now Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara takes the box office graph higher up with an excellent first weekend.
The film opened on Friday with a collection of Rs. 8 crore, which rose to Rs. 9.25 crore on Saturday and peaked at Rs. 11 crore on Sunday. Simply stupendous! The aggregate weekend collection of the film is Rs. 28.25 crore nett, which puts it on the way to be a superhit. With three hit films in as many weeks, things look extremely good at box office.
On the other hand, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 too has been weaving its magic. The film, last in the Harry Potter series, raked in a decent 14.50 crores in its first weekend. The collection is better than the first weekend figures of Transformers 3 or even Avatar last year. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has manages the second best weekend by any Hollywood film in India after 2012 in 2009. The coming Friday would see the release of Ajay Devgan’s Singham, which is also expected to open well. Are we up for four hit films in July? Knock on wood!
