It has been 15 long years since Sridevi's last Bollywood film, times have changed and so have the promotional activities around the releases. No wonder that the once extremely media-shy actress is now giving nothing less than 10 interviews per day ahead of the release of her comeback film English Vinglish. And we hear that Sridevi is not complaining about it either. Gauri Shinde who is making her directorial debut with this film is all praise for the actress.
She said, "Sridevi is part of eight to 10 interviews a day. She gets exhausted but she's thoroughly enjoying the process. It's been a long time since she has interacted with the media on such a large scale. And I'm glad she is part of my first Bollywood project because you don't get any bigger than her."
The actress herself feels that marketing strategies around Bollywood films have seen an overhaul in recent times. Sridevi said that the industry and the media during her heydays weren't so high on promotional events. "Even during the '90s, there were limited interviews which were conducted by few magazines and some known publications, unlike today, when interviews and promotions play a very crucial role in marketing a film," Sridevi said.
No wonder the actress is walking that extra mile and making an effort during the numerous interviews and promotions of her upcoming film. Incidentally, while giving interviews to various publication and news channels, Sridevi even goes for a dress-change after each and every interview.
