Karan Johar’s high on competitionIt seems competition is all that’s on Karan Johar’s mind right now. The filmmaker’s upcoming movie Student Of The Year (SOTY) is about that and he’s busy judging competitions on the small screen. Johar, who’s a judge on the dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, will also be seen on the multi-talent show India’s Got Talent (IGT), which starts today on Colors.

“I’ve always been fascinated with talents it showcases. I was offered to judge its first season but at that time, I was busy filming,” he says. The show will also see Manish Paul of Jhalak hosting it. And Johar known for his witty comments is his big fan. “Manish is a genius. I can’t even do 1% of what he can do. His haazir jawaabi and humour are amazing,” he says. This is also the time when Johar is busy promoting his film. “I literally have no time to eat, breathe or sleep.

There’s just so much to do,” says the filmmaker, who denies the popular belief that SOTY is a modern-take on his 1998 hit film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. “The film has nothing to do with KKHH. It’s not a love story at all. It’s about friendship and a competition.” he says.

Ask Johar a fashion designer himself for his views on Delhi’s fashion sense, and he says: Delhi is surely the ‘fashion Capital’ of the country. Everyone is so well-dressed.” Shift topic to the next season of his chat show, Koffee with Karan, and all Johar reveals is: “It’s coming in June next year.
