"I am scared of too much harping around me" - Emraan HashmiEmraan Hashmi has done it again. Ever so consistent for last couple of years, he has now ensured a huge opening for his latest release Raaz 3 despite several factors like an 'A' certificate, lack of chartbuster music and horror genre (which is 'presumed' to have limited audience) going against it. While the film's collections surpassing those of his biggest grosser this year, Jannat 2 in just five days, he has also managed to walk past the record created by some of his other colleagues this year. However, he stays on to be calm and composed as ever without making any plans to paint the town red.

You have managed yet another huge success after Jannat 2 this year and Murder 2/ The Dirty Picture last year. Still, you didn't really dominate the film's promotion even as Bipasha Basu took centre-stage. Weren't you bothered? Not really, reason being that I am not starved for that sort of endorsement from people. I have had two great years and its okay if Bhatt saab talked more about Bipasha. I don't take it personally because I know that I haven't been robbed of any praise. Also, I am scared of too much harping about me. I would rather be seen or spoken about sparsely than something or the other being constantly churned about me.

Your loyal fans and audience definitely seem to praising you and flocking theaters. At least for them you could have been more visible pre-release? See, the year started with Jannat 2 and then there was Shanghai as well. If I would have been more visible, it may have resulted in an Emraan Hashmi overkill. Anyways, I am not one of those actors who get defensive and think that since the other actor is being seen, I should be taking over. I am way past that because it is only early in your career when you want to be in constant focus. Thankfully, I have had enough it and am at peace with myself.

Well, you definitely don't seem to have had enough of kissing though. Even in Raaz 3 it appeared as if your character was just searching for an opportunity to get going with both Bipasha and Esha. (Laughs) Well, I am just doing my job. If I am required to do something as an actor, I can't be restraining myself. Also, I have realised that there is a core constituency of audience that you should never leave.

Still, won't you ever be taking a different route? That's something I am doing naa; I just had Shanghai of mine release. See, I am not shying away from experimentation. That would happen for a different kind of audience. Even I don't want to get stuck. However, till that starts paying returns as well, I would be doing a Raaz 3 or a Jannat 2 in order to cater to my quintessential audience. So what next? (Smiles) Hopefully bigger numbers. After all, I have to start surpassing my own opening records now.
