Filmi fate after terror WednesdayClose on the heels of the three blasts that rocked the city late on Wednesday evening, the entertainment industry too seems to be reeling in the aftermath. The terror attack, clubbed with incessant rains in the city have led to several if not all events across the city being cancelled and the ones scheduled risk being not-so-well-attended affairs. Of the two big film events that were lined up for Wednesday included the first look of Farhan Akhtar's much-anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don 2 and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's success party for his recent release starring Emraan Hashmi. However an event being held in New Delhi to felicitate actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was not cancelled despite a request made by the star. But keeping the emotions in mind, a two-minute silence was observed and also the post event bash was cancelled. The following day too, the promotional activities for director Zoya Akhtar's Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer were cancelled. An insider however revealed that the film's release has not been postponed. "What happened is rather unfortunate, but it is practically impossible for the filmmakers to push the release to a later date. The prints of the film have already been sent across the country," said the insider, adding that it's premature to say how much the collections might actually be affected.

Trade analysts however feel that the collections of the film will get affected in the first few days at least, not only in Mumbai, but also in all other major metros depending on if a high alert has been declared there. But they also opine that if the film is good, it will pick up no matter what. "Sentiments are running high at the moment and people especially families will be a little wary of wanting to go to theatres right now. But it can't be helped either because it would be impossible to postpone the release," said trade analyst Komal Nahta. The only other release, the latest Harry Potter installment has already run into trouble with the multiplexes, which will definitely affect its chances at the BO. On the other hand, it was work as usual in the TV industry, as shows continued to be shot around the clock. The only ones that got cancelled were the outdoor shoots that wer called off only because of the rains, revealed an industrywallah.
