After having spent over a decade in the film industry, Bipasha Basu sure has come a long way. On a promotional drive for her upcoming film ‘Raaz 3’, the bong beauty opened up about her journey in Bollywood, her love life and her preferences and, her experience of working with serial kisser – Emraan Hashmi.
“After my debut in ‘Ajnabee’ in 2001, I signed my next film Raaz only when producer Mukesh Bhatt convinced me that I was talented and should be taking up more work,” the sultry beauty recalled while talking to the media. Bipasha admitted that at first she was reluctant to become a film star but with time, that reluctance was only replaced by the need to do more work.
“All female actors want to be part of mainstream masala movies wear gorgeous clothes, do the song-and-dance routine and get rescued by muscular heroes. We do offbeat films every once in a while, but then want to come back to making mass entertainers because that is where all the big money is,” Bipasha added.
Talking about her love life, Bips said, “I don’t know if I am single at the moment. All I know is that I am not going to be candid about my personal life anymore. “ “It is never a good idea for a woman to be honest about her personal life. It just takes the focus away from her work,” she pointed out.
And yes, she did get to lock lips with “serial kisser” Emraan Hashmi. “It was the longest onscreen kiss ever and what made it difficult was the fact that I had to be talking to him at the same time,” she said with a laugh and insisted that she finds onscreen kissing very uncomfortable. “I am probably the only heroine who would rather have lovemaking scenes instead of smooching in my films,” said Bipasha.
