Tweets from the handle @iRanveersingh have been panning Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger summarily. Here’s what one tweet read: “EK THA TIGER felt absolute bore but last 15min was magical. nice stunt nd action @beingsalmankhan pra.” The tweet was picked by a Hindi news channel and a story trotted out on Ranveer Singh’s slamming of the film.

No wonder, the imposter reveled in the attention he got. The user tweeted: “Guys switch to aajtak channel fast. U will get to know how fake i am…I have criticized ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ on twitter and a special episode is coming on aaj tak now threatening me. Mai darta nai.” The user poked more fun at the film by writing: “While I was passing through a multiplex people after seeing EK THA TIGER was asking for TIGER BAAM.”

Now, all these tweets were provocative enough to rile Salman Khan or anyone associated with the film. Since Ranveer Singh’s reputation was on the line and his equation with Salman at the risk of souring for life, Ranveer felt it necessary to clarify that the tweets were not from his official handle.

Ranveer issued a statement through his representative denouncing the tweets ascribed to him. The statement says: “This is to inform you that the information on a tweet being attributed to Ranveer Singh in some sections of the media about his comments on ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is completely incorrect and baseless. The tweet being referred to is of an impersonator and not of Ranveer. While Ranveer is on Twitter and his Twitter handle is @RanveerOfficial, he has never tweeted till date.” Meanwhile, the imposter did get his/her fifteen minutes of fame by slagging Ek Tha Tiger.
