Shahid Kapoor admits he is the latest victim of Sonam Kapoor’s high standards of fashion. At an event unveiling the first look of their forthcoming film, Mausam, directed by Pankaj Kapur, the duo were seen in colour-coordinated outfits at PVR Juhu. The actor jokingly says, “Sonam doesn’t entertain related stories people whose fashion standards don’t match hers. You have to dress and look a certain way to get her approval. During the making of the film, I educated myself on fashion. I hope I have her stamp of approval now.” In the film, Shahid essays the role of an air force officer, Harvinder Singh, while Sonam plays a village belle, Aayat, who goes on to learn ballet in Scotland. “Mausam is about a season of love, different emotions and situations that a couple goes through,” adds Shahid. Now, the two also share an off-screen chemistry that doesn’t go unnoticed. Sonam reveals that she usually doesn’t speak to her co-actors on the sets, but with Shahid, things were different. “People think Shahid is shy, but I’m more reserved than he is. We met during the ball dancing rehearsals in Scotland
and got to know each other while learning to dance,” she says.Mausam Dismissing reports around her tiff with Shahid, Sonam clarifies, “Our only arguments revolved around the clothes he wore. We have never had a major fight.” Her co-star, Shahid, confirms this, saying, “We have a love-hate relationship.” Disappointing Shahid’s female fans, Sonam points out that the actor wasn’t allowed to show off his eight-pack abs in the film. She says, “He is the best dancer, so we tried to convince Pankaj sir to let him to do an item number to showcase his eight-pack abs.” Shahid reveals that he too joined in, saying, “Since I play an airforce officer in the film, I suggested we do an item song around an aircraft to show off my body. But Dad refused.”
