One is an actor with a royal lineage who confesses that pajama pants are her favourite piece of clothing. The other is a designer who has worked on numerous films and is absolutely crazy about shoes. When both of them – Soha Ali Khan and Akki Narula – come together, you get What Not To Wear India on Discovery Network’s TLC channel.

The Indian avatar of the popular styling show will help Indian women choose clothes that suit their body type and makes them look better. It goes on air on September 3. Would Soha and Akki be as brutal as the show’s UK hosts Trinny and Sussanah? “We tried to be nice but we believe in tough love. People find it difficult to change. Sometimes we had to be very frank,” said Soha.

It wasn’t natural for Soha to host a show on style. “When my friends came to know about the show, they laughed for a long time. They asked me to be a participant,” she said.
