The birth of daughter Aaradhya seems to have proved lucky for actor Abhishek Bachchan, as he recently joined the elite Rs100-crore league of actors. His last release, Bol Bachchan was widely appreciated by the trade and his fans alike, as a result of which, the film has made over 100-crore worldwide.

The actor is obviously ecstatic. Expressing his happiness, he recently said, “It is obviously a very big deal. Hundred -crore is a huge figure and this only means that people have loved the film. It is a different kind of feeling when people love your film. The film was running successfully even in its fourth week. It feels great.”

Ask him if he had expected this kind of feedback, when he had first signed the film? “I liked the script and I knew it was going to be commercially acceptable. But I never expected the film to have a response like this. I always knew we had a good film and that is why I took it up; but the feedback I received was massive and extremely overwhelming,” says Abhishek. And has wife, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan found the time to watch it as yet?

“Oh yes, she has seen it. She liked it.” So what are the celebrations in the household like? “The best kind of celebration is to know that your work has been appreciated and move on to do some more good work. It only pushes you to work harder so that all your movies do well,” confesses Abhi.

But considering criticism has always been a part and parcel of his life, does he get bitter and upset when there are detractors or critics who write him off? “Well, I am absolutely open to criticism. Someone may like your film and someone may not. If you have done a bad job, you just have to take it on face value, accept it and move on. You can’t allow it to break you. If at all, it only makes you stronger and pushes you to work hard so that your work speaks for itself,” he explains.
