In what may turn out to be actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s first public appearance since the announcement of her pregnancy, the soon-to-be mom is expected to attend the French National Day celebrations in Mumbai.

The actress’ French connection goes back a long way. Last month, she attended the French derby in Chantilly, France. Aishwarya is also a regular at the Cannes Film Festival for last several years.She is also the brand ambassador for a French cosmetic and a watch brand.

A source says, “She will be attending a show organised to celebrate the French National Day. There are several dignitaries and Aishwarya may make an appearance as she endorses a French brand. This would be her first public appearance since the announcement of pregnancy.” The celebrations also include a fashion show. The show will see designers like Nachiket Barve, Rahul Mishra and Narendra Kumar Ahmed who will present a fashion extravaganza using the three colours on the French flag in their ensembles. “I have used three colours on the French flag in an ombre dyeing style so that it represents the unity in diversity. Also my gowns are draped,but the mosaic on the shoulder is structured like Marianne, their national emblem,” says designer Nachiket Barve. Interestingly, it is not the first time that buzz about Aishwarya’s public appearance is doing the rounds. Recently, she was expected to make an appearance at the opening of choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant’s musical held in town. Even as fans waited eagerly, it was just hubby Abhishek Bachchan who turned up.
