Though it was the one thing I wanted the most in the past two months , it happened when I was least expecting it. It was a huge, huge surprise that knocked me out!! I was glad to return home with Ishaan as he had admitted his love for me, i.e. Shashikala and even agreed to marry me. I was all smiles and everyone at home was happy for me, when I broke the news. Badi ma and dadi said they always knew Ishaan would fall in love with me and eventually admit it too. I had to ask everyone to wait till Ishaan declared his love for me before his family. After all, I too had claimed my love for him in front of everyone. I wanted him to do the same this time. It was going to be a grand gesture and I couldn’t wait for the next morning. But alas, my bondu lost his nerve when he saw the entire family waiting for his announcement. Instead, he got nervous and in panic, he rushed out of the room. I was mighty upset with this behaviour. How could he back track and not declare his love for me? I was so angry that I perhaps stunned everyone with my statement that he doesn’t deserve me. Thankfully, my family understands me and my quirks so they knew I was upset and didn’t really mean it.

I went to Ishaan's room and began breaking things- not that it gave me any relief. What I didn’t know and Ishaan told me later was that he tripped over some of the stuff that I had broken and hit his head which is how he regained his memory. But I left home and went to the temple. I met with the panditji and chatted with him. He told me he about the couple who got re-married there as the guy had lost his memory and regained it after 20 years, so he was marrying his wife again.

OMG! I even imagined a scenario of Ishaan and I being old and remarrying. I didn’t want to wait that long for his memory to return. I am happy being with him as Shashikala if that’s what it takes to be with him. I love Ishaan and want to be with him in any way that I can. So I decided to put my anger aside and called Ishaan to come to the temple, unaware that he had got his memory back.

While my family and even dad came for our marriage, I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that Ishaan's memory was back! Everyone was overjoyed. I couldn’t believe it and I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t stop my tears and wipe the grin off my face. I never knew one could be so happy. Sure I have been happy in my life numerous times when I bought something or when I went to a fancy place but this joy is beyond everything I have ever cared for. I melted when I heard him call me Suhana and not Shasikala!! I kept asking him to repeat my name over and over. I felt for a moment that I would never tire of hearing him call my name.

Once we came home and everyone was all smiles, I was glad to be back in my bedroom. Ishaan and I thanked God with our prayers. For all the problems I faced when Ishaan had lost his memory, I demanded he compensate me. I asked for declaration of I love you 20 times a day to bridge the two month separation gap. I realised I missed my Ishaan. Though I spoke to him daily but he wasn’t my Ishaan as he thought of me as Shasikala, not Suhana. The love in your beloved’s eyes and the smile on his face for you is a feeling that is indescribable.

Now re-married, we are blissfully happy but instead of the responsible bahu and wife, Ishaan wants me to be the old Suhana. Ahh, life was never so good!!
