Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan, which will be Thalaivar's comeback of sorts after recuperating from his illness, has been in the news ever since it was conceived. Now reports suggest that the superstar and leading lady Deepika Padukone will visit Japan as part of the film's four-city world premiere. The other three cities will be Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
A source was quoted in this report by The Times Of India as saying "All the dynamics of a Japanese premiere for Kochadaiyaan are now being worked out. Deepika and Rajini Sir are expected to be in Tokyo in December for the premiere." Rajinikanth, who has a huge fan following in Japan, had planned to visit the island nation after the tsunami that struck in March 2011.
The superstar was recently quoted as saying that he has restricted his public appearances after his illness in April 2011. The Robot star was last seen at a music launch with fellow Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan on July 27, 2012. The producers of Kochadaiyaan, whose satellite rights have been bagged by Jaya TV, reportedly plan to launch 5 lakh phones that will include pre-installed acts and dialogues from the movie, videos from the film's making and other trivia relating to the film. Rajinikanth's daughter and the film's director, Soundarya Rajinikanth, is planning to release Kochadaiyaan on December 12 this year, coinciding with her father's birthday.
