Pandit Bhagawat Guruji made a shocking claim recently. He said that he performed actual wedding rituals and recited proper mantras during the filming of a wedding sequence in Force. Therefore, John and Genelia, according to the pandit, are now husband and wife, much to the shock of the two actors and the film’s producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Shah rubbishes the pandit’s claim in a statement: “Countless number of weddings have been performed in Hindi cinema, but this is the first time that I have come across someone so keen to be in the limelight that he can go far enough to claim to have married Genelia D'Souza off.” Shah went on to add that the pandit is looking for 15 minutes of fame. “I don't hold anything against Pandit Bhagwat Guruji but will not let anyone point a finger at the leading lady of my film in this manner. He is only looking out for his 15 minutes of fame without any real standing. The whole incident is bizarrely shocking and there is no truth to it at all. Any such claims should be dismissed as a desperate attempt to gain attention,” Vipul Shah added.

Actress Genelia D’Souza is also upset over the claims made by the pandit. Her spokesperson says: “The bizarreness of the pundit's claims is astounding. It is extremely unfortunate that someone would try to take advantage of just being in the same scene as Genelia D'Souza in this manner.” While John Abraham is presently single, Genelia is believed to be dating actor Ritesh Deshmukh.
