Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan are super excited with the excellent response to Cocktail’s promo and songs, they said in a chat with Hindustan Times’ film critic Anupama Chopra on her show The Front Row with Anupama Chopra. The actors also had two different versions to share about their rapport with director Homi Adajania.
“We keep making fun of him, that this is his comeback film because like 10 people watched Being Cyrus and so he finally succumbed to making commercial movies,” joked Deepika. Saif, on the other hand, subtly praised his director. “Homi always surprises in a wonderful way where he’s actually the most committed person on the set, and he made sure he learned the language for this film. Homi injected a Delhi flavour into my role. In fact he had me dub some of it,” he said.
When asked why he goes for romantic flicks even though he likes darker movies, Saif replied, “Because I have a partner in film production. It’s slightly chick-flicky which is wonderful, and great fun to act in. (But someday) I’d like to make maybe a spy thriller.” To that, Deepika sarcastically said, “That’s really weird because love stories suit him.” The episode airs this Friday on Star World.
