There’s always a price to pay for success, they say in Bollywood, and in the case of actor Kareena Kapoor, that price seems to be her friends, who she hardly has time for, these days. So, while the actor may be reigning at the BO with a string of hits, there is buzz of a growing distance between her and her friends, including some on the professional front.
However, sources close to the actor say that Bebo’s unfazed, as these talks are nothing but rumours. While the sources do not deny that the actor’s been rather busy of late, according to close friends, that’s never been an issue between their friendship with Kareena.
“Besides, they all understand how dear they are to her, but they also know it’s only work that’s keeping her busy. So they have been complaining to her about not being able to spend time together, but no one is upset for sure,” says the source. Besides being busy with her work commitments, she is also engaged in the preparations of her upcoming wedding with boyfriend actor Saif Ali Khan, that is said to be on October 16.
“All her friends know her well enough and are well aware that she is always there for them, so they are in fact, being rather understanding about her not being able to spend too much time with them,” adds the source. The source informs that it is because of such a hectic schedule that she’s had to turn down several plum offers too.
“It’s not like she does not want to take them on, given a choice she would consider them for sure, but right now her calendar’s choc-a-bloc and she doesn’t want to give away the next year’s dates, as she already has enough on her plate for now,” explains the insider.
Kareena, who’s been busy shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine reveals that it’s been quite gruelling and hectic, but also extremely satisfying as an actor. “There are so many facets and layers to the character that it’s impossible to not get tangled in those emotions at times,” she’d said.
Post Heroine, the actor is expected to begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela with actor Ranveer Singh. “I have wanted to work with Sanjay for a long time, so I am just glad that this year I am working with both the directors who were on my wishlist, Sanjay and Madhur,” the actor had added.
