When Kya Kool Hai Hum hit the theatres seven years ago, actor Riteish Deshmukh wasn’t sure whether the sex comedy would find an audience. Seven years later, the actor is back in its sequel Kya Super Kool Hai Hum, which is supposed to be naughtier and funnier than the first outing. And this time Ritiesh is quite confident about finding takers! “Much more exciting stuff has happened in the seven years between the two films and the audience has been lapping it up,” he reasons.
To ensure that there is total paisa vasool, Riteish has even teamed up with actor Tusshar Kapoor to do a crazy, male version of actor Shilpa Shetty’s hit number UP Bihar lootne.“It’s one of my favourite songs and Shilpa had done such a wonderful job. She made it iconic! Everyone remembers her and the song but we have not tried to copy her,” he says tongue-in-cheek.
The actor, who has starred in several comedies feels that humour comes in different forms. It can be slapstick, physical or black comedy. “All you have to do is figure out the kind of comedy, set your character in it and deal with it,” is what Riteish believes. He however, loves poker-faced comedy, which he says is rarely allowed in Hindi films.
Riteish, who was last seen in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, which had him in a solo lead opposite actor and wife Genelia is hopingto do more films with her. The film has opened up new avenues for him with producers offering him solo leads. He has already got two such films in his kitty, one of which is a crime thriller. Though the heroine is yet to be finalised, none of the films will have Genelia, he informs. “I hope we get something to do together,” admits Riteish, who has no issues about his wife taking up other films without him.
It’s a different thing that Genelia is right now busy doing a TV show and completing a long-pending film Rock The Shaadi. So, are there any plans of starting a family soon? “That’s too personal a question to get into at this stage!” clarifies Riteish.
