Though Sonali has been seen in commercials and was also a part of a few telly shows as an anchor or judge, this will be her first full fledged role in films, after so many years. The actor, as she puts it, is looking forward to it. “I can now confirm that I am indeed doing Ekta Kapoor’s sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.

I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun especially since it is Ekta and (filmmaker) Milan Luthria’s film. The two main hurdles that I had were that of the producer and director, and in this case, everything fell into place because they are both people I know. I share a certain comfort level with them,” she says.

Though the actor has been on a hiatus from films for a long time, she says that she can never totally be cut off from Bollywood because that is essentially what her entire family is involved in. “I am not really nervous as this is a part of my life now. It is what I do. Whether the film is a hit or a flop, I know this is where the money is going to be pumped into.

I don’t think it is a big deal for me to be back on the big screen as I have always been around, be it TV or commercials. For all you know, I may never like another film script for the next 10 years,” states Sonali, who was one of the glam gals of in the Nineties.

One of the main reasons why she stayed away from Bollywood was to give quality time to her family. A doting mother to a seven-year-old boy now, she says, “I have always said this, and will maintain it, that the first seven years of a kid’s life are integral to his growth.

My life revolved around my kid for seven years. Now that he is turning seven, I think I can afford to spend some time on the sets, though my life will still revolve around my son.” So will son, Ranveer be allowed to be present on his mama’s sets? “I am quite strict about his routine. But I could take him one of the days to the sets, but that’s going to be rather rare,” she smiles.
