Ekta Kapoor, rightly known as the 'soap queen' revolutionalised television viewing with her saas-bahu sagas. With the numerous leaps, characters coming alive from the dead, vicious vamps and shocking twists, it looked like Kapoor had cracked the formula to garner TRPs.

As such sagas flooded every channel, Ekta brought in a breath of fresh air with Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, her latest offering which was lauded by the audience for its mature and realistic portrayal of a love story between the two middle-aged leads, Saakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapooor. It also grabbed attention for the love-making scene between the protagonists.

However, with the show all set to take a five- year leap, Ekta seems to have gone back to her old tactics of serial-making in the wake of dipping TRPs.

The idea of the proposed leap in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, which was initially planned as a series of 150 episodes, is being claimed as an effort to incorporate an element of freshness to the plot. However, clearly, the decision hasn't gone down too well with both the audience and the actors in the show.

Actors Eva Grover aka Niharika who recently died in the serial and Mohit Malhotra who plays Priya's brother have confirmed their exit post the leap. Meanwhile speculations are rife that Chahat Khanna aka Ayesha will marry Ram and will turn negative post the leap. The latest episode telecast saw Priya's van catching fire while getting transferred to a different jail.
