She started her career playing glam roles. However, actor Neha Dhupia, now wishes to go beyond being a sex siren and in her upcoming film, Maximum, the actor is playing a desi housewife. Neha will be seen in a new avatar and the actor is elated with the way her role has turned out in the film. She is playing actor Sonu Sood’s wife in the film, and will be seen in a rather simple and completely domestic look.

Talking about her look in the film, Neha says, “I am wearing cotton sarees and it is a very different look. Though nobody signs films keeping their appearance in mind, Ihave got a lot of opportunities where I have sported different looks.

It’s very nice to get such opportunities but you should never base your decision on the clothes you like to wear. I am very happy that I got to play this role in a film. Kabeer (director Kabeer Kaushik) is a capable director and I am so happy he thought I was good enough to play this role.”

Neha has been looking forward to playing various kinds of roles. Rather than the banners and multi-starrers, Neha feels it’s the script that ultimately counts and hence she is choosing roles that give her enough room to display her craft.

One of the reasons for choosing this film was that she is the only female character in the film. “I think if the cast is all male and I am the only woman in the film, it’s easier to get noticed. If anyone had got this character, they would have done it. Besides I just love to work with Naseerji. I have learnt a lot from him. In fact he is a film school in himself,” she adds.
