To work or not to work with Ranbir Kapoor? That was the question bothering the actor's one time sweetheart Katrina Kaif. The actress, choosing to keep her personal and professional lives separate, has now finally decided to work with her ex-flame Ranbir in good friend Ayaan Mukerji's forthcoming venture to be produced by Karan Johar. This news however, falls as a bucket of cold water on Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma, the two ladies who had been trying to be a part of the very film. Katrina in an interview with Mumbai Mirror (Kat's call, May 24, 2011), had said how she was still unsure about working with Ranbir Kapoor. After all, it hasn't been too long since the two had parted ways. The actress seems to have moved on since then. A source revealed, "She was very hurt after her break up with Ranbir. After all, they were in a relationship for nearly 18 months. But all that is a thing of the past."

Ayaan Mukerji who had always been a good friend of the actress had maintained that he wanted Katrina as the female lead in his forthcoming venture. However, after her break up with Ranbir, things did not look too bright for Ayaan. Finally, friendship has won the lady over. Katrina has decided to agree to do her friend's film. "Katrina has consented to star in the fim. However, she is yet to sign the dotted line," said the source.

Ranbir, too will keep up to his part of the deal. "Ranbir has already heard the first half of the script from Ayaan. He will be hearing the second half of the film as soon as he gets back to town this weekend." While Katrina was still in two minds about Ayaan Mukerji's venture, it was speculated that either Deepika or Anushka might star in the film. However, the Wake Up Sid director after some recent developments, went back to his original choice Katrina.

And this time the lady, agree to be a part of his project. "It has been a long time now. Katrina has put her relationship with Ranbir behind her. She is ready to move on," explained our source. "Katrina is totally focused on work now. She is back to being her usual happy and chirpy self. Life doesn't stop due to breakups. Why shouldn't she work with Ranbir?" added the source.

The source also added, "Nowadays actors are smart and very professional. They don't always let their egos come in their way. Isn't Priyanka Chopra and her ex-lover Shahid Kapoor working together in Kunal Kohli's film? So why should it be a problem for Katrina to work with Ranbir?" Reportedly, Katrina and Ranbir had even been frequenting Ayan's residence in Santacruz before they fell apart. The director obviously had no idea then what lay in store months ahead. Says another source, "In fact, Ayaan who is very good friends with Katrina and Ranbir waited for Katrina to decide on his film. He was very keen that no one else but Katrina should do the role."
