"The new generation has a lot of intensity. The audiences are happy to accept new films today. Nowadays, the audience is very intellectual. They only like an actor because of his acting," Arjun said on the sidelines of the celebration of 100 years of cinema at Whistling Woods Film Institute.
Citing an example, Arjun said, "Ranveer is an excellent example of this. He is doing good work. And the audience today only wants good work." On similar lines, his first co-star Parineeti Chopra said, "It is a good thing that people are accepting new films and scripts. Films are no longer cliché."
Cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti had joined as a Marketing & PR consultant at Yash Raj Films after completing her education, since 2009 till she auditioned for movie roles and bagged `Ladies VS Ricky Bahl` and `Ishaqzaade`. "I have not learnt acting.
I used to ask Arjun and my director if what I was doing was right. Whistling Woods reminded me of my college. It would have been nice, had I got a platform to learn acting. Now there is no time. But we do attend workshops before we start shooting," she said. "Acting school teaches and supports you a lot," she said.
