At the ripe age of 97, veteran actor A K Hangal is making a comeback to acting with the TV show 'Madhubala'. A K Hangal, who has acted in more than 200 Hindi films in a career spanning nearly five decades, is most remembered for his roles in films like Sholay, Namak Haraam and Shaukeen.
The makers of the show 'Madhubala' wanted A K Hangal to be a part of their show as their show is a tribute to the 100 years of Indian cinema and Mr. Hangal has been a part of the industry for a very long time. Hangal is extremely happy and excited to be a part of the TV show as he feels that work knows no age limit.
Sometime ago it was reported that the nonagenarian actor was facing financial problems and having a tough time meeting his medical and daily expenses but everything is fine now as he has been getting help from people from the film fraternity. 'Madhubala' is based on the world of cinema and follows the story of a girl who is forced into the world of glamour and showbiz. It stars Drashti Dhami, Vivian D'sena, Raj Zutshi and Shagufta Ali.
