The actress and London-based Kundra are owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals. Shetty was the winner of the UK reality show Big Brother in 2007 during which she was at the centre of a race row.

She has acted in nearly 40 Bollywood and regional Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. "A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever," Mr Kundra tweeted after the birth of the couple's first baby. Their IPL team did not make it to the top four in the ongoing tournament this year. Shetty was at the centre of a controversy during her time as a participant in the Big Brother house. Other housemates in the show, led by Jade Goody, were accused of racism and bullying the Indian actress.
