TV actors claim innocence after rave party raid

Television actors and real life couple Apoorva and Shilpa Agnihotri were also among the ones who were booked Sunday night when cops busted a rave party in Mumbai. The couple denied any drugs angle and while talking to the media they categorically said that they did not do drugs.

Around 96 people including 38 women, mostly foreign nationals were detained by the police on Sunday night. The police claimed it to be a rave party. The two international cricketers, Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell, who play in the IPL for Pune Warriors India were also detained and questioned.

Even as the police claimed the party involved drugs and was a rave party, the guests at the party said there was nothing wrong at there. Speaking to a news channel Shilpa along with her husband said, “We didn’t do drugs. It just happened that we were at the wrong place at the wrong time. This was a very unfortunate thing to happen. We haven’t been involved in anything bad. They way everything has turned out, it makes you wonder if you can really go out a have a nice evening.”

The actress, who was seen as Ganga in 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', says they hardly ever party. "It was after a long time that we had gone out together. And this is what happened. How are we supposed to differentiate which party is safe and which unsafe," she said.

The couple was taken to a government hospital to take their blood sample, but she was upset with the way the procedure took place. "The cops were very supportive but what hurt me the most was that the hospital staff was not supportive at all. My blood sample were taken but wasn't labelled for almost 45 minutes. "I requested them to do so as I didn't want my blood sample to be swapped, but they were very rude. I told them if the labelling is not done properly, the results can put us in grave trouble," she added.
