Former West Indies batsman Gordon Greenidge says he would still pay to watch Sachin Tendulkar, even in the twilight of the Indian's career. Greenidge was an opening batsman in the famous Windies team of the 1980s, finishing his 108-Test career with over 7,500 runs.
Tendulkar was rested for India's current tour of the West Indies but he is expected play when India come to England later this month. The 38-year-old - nicknamed 'The Little Master' - is considered among the best batsmen ever to have played the game. He is the highest ever run scorer in Test and one-day cricket, with 99 international centuries. 'I'm certain if you asked this question to anybody, they would want to pay to watch Sachin Tendulkar, even at this tender age,' Greenidge said of the former India captain. 'He still looks very hungry for runs.'
'Whenever he goes out there, you wonder if he looks like a young guy just starting, eager to make his mark in international cricket or someone who's been playing a number of years with records that perhaps will never be broken and (is) still eager to go out there and perform.' 'Those are the types of people you want on your side, those are the people you would pay to go watch.' 'I'm no different to others that have seen him, who keep watching to see what he does.'
