Playing a cop isn’t easy!: Arjun Rampal

Actor Arjun Rampal, who is currently gearing up for his visit to France has a super packed schedule. The actor who is also shooting for his film, Chakravyuh will be taking a couple of days off to attend the Cannes Film Festival. Talking about it he says, “I was scheduled to attend the opening ceremony on May 16. But I would have had to disrupt my shooting schedules to be in France. We have a very packed schedule in Madhya Pradesh, where we are shooting currently so I didn’t want to hamper that. I worked my way around and decided to go for the closing ceremony instead,” he reveals.

Arjun is sporting a completely different look in the film. Much different from his last release, RA.One in which he sported a bald look. The actor plays a policeman, Adil Khan in the film and if sources close to him are to be believed, he had to do a lot of research for his role before he started shooting. “More than anything else, I had to delve into the psyche of a policeman for my part. Playing a cop is not easy. When I started the film, a lot of detractors said that I walk like a model and I would have to change my posture to resemble a policeman. But I’d like to clarify that I do not walk like a model. I have already played different characters and like everyone else, I worked on my character. I didn’t have to change my walk,” he explains.

Arjun also grew a moustache for his look, something he says he has grown fond of. “I grew a moustache because the fake one looked very fake. Also I had to be like that for the entire schedule so I thought I’d rather grow one than use a fake moustache. This feels and looks real,” he says.

The film has been a learning experience for him, says Arjun. “I enjoy doing all films and like each one of them, this one too has been a great experience. It’s a tough film to make since it deals with the issue of naxalism but Prakash Jha (director) has done it wonderfully giving it a commercial touch,” says the actor.
