Actor Shahid Kapoor seems to have some free time in hand at the moment. Not too long ago, the actor had confessed that he was unemployed as the shooting for Maneesh Sharma's film had been postponed. He now seems to be making good use of his time by being a part of award shows- both hosting and performing.

The actor is set to host the IIFA awards this year, although it's not known yet who'll co- host the event with him. Last year saw Boman Irani, Riteish Deshmukh, and Lara Dutta play anchors, leaving the audience in splits with their sense of humour. Let's see what Shahid has in store for the audience. Another highlight of the event would be the premiere of Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai, which has already aroused curiosity among the audience with its promos.

The stars of the film, Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee will walk the green carpet at the IIFA awards. This film is supposed to be a milestone in Emraan's career, taking him beyond his serial kisser image. As far as nominations go, The Dirty Picture and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara have dominated, as expected. The IIFA weekend will be held in Singapore from June 7- 9.
