A few days ago, reports claimed that Sonakshi Sinha and Katrina Kaif “hugged and made up” at the inauguration of Sohail Khan’s wife Seema Khan’s new spa in Bandra. Over the past year or so, the two actors have constantly been in the news for an alleged cold war between them.
But ask Sonakshi about this and she refutes having any “problems.” “I’ve never had any fallout with Katrina. Whenever we have met, we have been very cordial. So what’s new with that (meeting at spa launch)? I don’t know where the stories of this rift between us come from. I feel it’s more of a media-created topic,” says the actor, who reportedly spent a lot of time exploring the spa with Kat. In fact, onlookers were apparently amazed at how friendly the two were.
It’s believed that ‘problems’ between Sona and Kat begun after some reports insinuated that Sonakshi had replaced Katrina in a few ads and films, something that the latter did not find amusing. Sonakshi Sinha walks the ramp for JJ Valaya. Subsequently, Sonakshi messaged Katrina offering to explain her side of the story, but the New York (2009) actor didn’t respond. Ever since, the two have never spoken about this ‘issue’ publicly.
However, what gets Sonakshi excited, at the moment, is her upcoming release, Rowdy Rathore, in which she stars opposite Akshay Kumar. “I have got a lot of positive feedback from within the industry. While Akshay makes a comeback to action after seven years, this also happens to be my second film (after Dabangg, 2010). So it’s special,” she smiles.
Rowdy Rathore is the first of three films Sonakshi has signed with Akshay. The other two are Joker and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. “We share a great rapport, on and off screen. You will never find our producers and directors complaining, and I feel the industry notices that. That’s why we’re being offered so many films together and we aren’t complaining,” she says.
