It can get awfully lonely at the top. That's what Shah Rukh Khan had told Farhan Akhtar's character in Luck By Chance. And having lost a handful of friends over the past couple of years, Khan seems to have decided to follow his own onscreen advice. Having mended bridges with Farah Khan and more recently Juhi Chawla, the star has now extended the olive branch to Abhishek Bachchan. Mirror has learnt that Bachchan Jr in all probability will join the cast of Farah's next starring Shah Rukh, tentatively titled Happy New Year. Now, SRK and Abhishek have never been sworn enemies. In fact, they have worked together in Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna as well. However, the two actors have never been good friends either. Shah Rukh's equation with Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai had been a little rough. Since SRK dropped Ash from his home production Chalte Chalte, the two had maintained a distance. The rift widened when SRK and Gauri got dropped from the Abhi-Ash wedding guest list in 2007. But at one of the famous Karan Johar parties a couple of years later, the actors had reportedly patched up. But last year in May, when Abhishek graced SRK's house party wearing a Mumbai Indians jersey (that too when Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders had been knocked out of the tournament for the fourth consecutive year), a lot of tongues started wagging again. Interestingly, Abhishek, despite the cold vibes shared with SRK has always maintained that the elder actor was like a big brother. A source close to the film explained, "SRK and Abhishek share a rather curious equation. However, now they are all set to work together. The project Happy New Year is turning out to be a reunion of sorts. First Farah and SRK made up and now SRK will work with Abhishek." According to industry insiders, Boman Irani will also play a pivotal role in the film. And while the two leading ladies have not been decided yet, Vidya Balan may bag the role opposite Shah Rukh. And though the exact date for the film to go on floors is not known, industry insiders revealed that Farah may get a five-six day window to shoot her first schedule with SRK before the actor moves on to Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express this October. Despite repeated attempts, Abhishek and Farah remained unavailable for comment. Boman too did not reply. It can get awfully lonely at the top.
