The globally recognised Indian actor Anil Kapoor was in Singapore earlier this week along with the dusky beauty Bipasha Basu to launch the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), which is slated to take place in the city-state from 7 to 9 June. The Bollywood superstar, Anil Kapoor gave 10 minutes long speech, in which he was all praises for Singapore.
While speaking on his inclusion, the actor revealed that he envies Singapore for its ‘unimaginable’ and ‘incredible’ progress and diversity. He said, “Let me tell you one thing about Singapore… this is the kind of world we must have. Whatever I’ve heard and whatever I’ve imagined, Singapore is that. It is the epitome of everything.”
Kapoor, in the meantime, also commended the education system in Singapore. The actor got who impressed that he enrolled his eldest daughter in a local school over there. “If you want to sleep well at night, if you want to feel secure, if you want your child to get the best education and get the best of everything from all over the world, that’s Singapore,” the 54-year-old explained.
Bollywood is the second biggest film making industry after Hollywood and the biggest when it comes to the production. Nevertheless, when asked Kapoor, he admitted that Bollywood is still not making the movies which should be globally accepted. “We are making films that has music, dance, emotions [and] drama. That’s the beauty of [our films], we are sentimental people and that’s what our films project,” he said.
Anil Kapoor is one of the most recognized actors in India due to his films like ‘Pukar’ and ‘Welcome’. However, his Hollywood blockbuster ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, which bagged eight Oscars, made him a well-known face all over the world. Kapoor will be seen in two movies this year, ‘Shootout at Wadala’ and ‘Power’. He has also signed ‘Race 2’, which will hit the cinemas next year.
