Mumbai, April 17, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) Bollywood political thriller film Shanghai is about a fast-growing international business park promising to make Shanghai out of small-town India, politicians who want to do good for the people, or otherwise. A social activist (Prosenjit Chatterjee) is mowed down by a drunk truck driver. A lone girl believes it to be a murder, supported by a porn film maker who claims to have the proof that will bring the government down. A high ranking bureaucrat is brought in to investigate the accident.
Shanghai stars actors like Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee. As a trailer of Dibakar Banerjee’s upcoming political thriller SHANGHAI hits the charts, the temptation to know more about the film has increased. The buzz has already been created among the people as to what this film has stored for the audience and therefore the excitement bar has also risen. The trailer tune of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is already hitting the minds of the people and now, T-Series has decided to add a Sufi song in the film which will be a part of the film.
Emraan and Arabic Sufi songs are a formula for success. And thus, Dibakar has thought of including this romantic number in his film. He is thinking to generate a romantic feel for the song so that it goes well with the flow and gives a fine look to the film. Emraan Hashmi has done many films which has Sufi songs in it, recent being Ishq Sufiyana from ‘The Dirty Picture’.
Agreeing to the concept, Dibakar said a film is not complete without adding a Sufi song and especially when Emraan Hashmi is there as your actor. Sometimes, you have to go with it. ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai is already hitting the charts and hence Dibakar has thought to capitalize on this fact and introduce a new track to take the charm to a next level.
Now, as everything is at its place, the song is finalized and set to be shot as early as possible. Let’s see if the combination of Sufi Song and Emraan Hashmi again hits the heart of the audience. The movie is set to release by PVR Pictures on 8th June, 2012.
