The Indian actor Imran Khan has admitted the fact that in spite of sharing so much with the media, the Bollywood industry hides a lot of things from the public. Khan, now 29, insisted that there are some certain facts which are true but they are never admitted by the actors and the filmmakers.
Writing for his Hindustan Times column, Khan explained: “We settle our differences privately. “Despite the extremely close and symbiotic relationship we share with the media, there are some opinions that are never shared with them. Some disputes that are never admitted.” Fighting with each other is a common thing in the Bollywood industry but Imran thinks the actors should not publicize their fights, if they cannot avoid them.
Perhaps the budding actor, who was last seen with Kareena Kapoor in ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’, wanted to convey a message to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan since they don’t have a good equation between them all. “The greatest offence is taking your fight public, and including ‘outsiders’,” said Khan. “Our business, like all others, is built on personal relationships. If your word means nothing, if people’s trust in you is betrayed… you’ll soon find yourself out in the cold.”
Imran Khan, nephew of B-Town superstar Amir Khan, made a very successful debut in the industry with ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ but his next releases ‘Luck’ and ‘Kidnap’ sank at the box office without any trace. May be this is a reason why he feels that Bollywood is a strange world to be a part of.
The actor told the media that he is working in the industry for the past five years but he has only felt the last three. Khan insisted that one has to earn his stripes in the Bollywood world or otherwise he is never taken seriously by anyone. Imran Khan is currently participating in the upcoming films like ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, ‘Once Upon a Time Again’ and ‘Mumbai Talkies’.
