Debabrata Das is on his knees there but Harmeet Singh has pulled off a brilliant piece of bowling to give Punjab a well deserved victory at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Gilchrist and his men had just 134 to defend and they did it with some conviction. Kolkata should have been the favourites and they started their innings well. Piyush Chawla and Bhargav Bhatt changed things very quickly though. The ball started to turn and Kolkata's batsmen started to feel the heat as they were sent packing one after the other. Das did very well to try and take his side home but when it came to crunch time, Harmeet Singh's leg cutters got the better of Kolkata.
Earlier, KKR's West Indian recruit Sunil Narine scalped five wickets, restricting KXIP to 134/9.
