Actor Priyanka Chopra looks all set to claim the top spot in Bollywood from Kareena Kapoor. If Hindi film industry insiders are to be believed, she has been offered a whopping Rs.9 crore for signing the remake of Zanjeer. Earlier, Kareena had made headlines by becoming the highest paid female actor with Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine. Now Priyanka has gone a step ahead with Zanjeer.

The remake of the 1973 blockbuster would see Priyanka in the lead opposite Ram Charan Teja. While he makes his Bollywood debut by stepping into Big B's shoes, Priyanka's character is a far cry from Jaya Bachchan's character in the original film. Priyanka would play a swanky US-returned restaurateur and would not be seen in any songs or item numbers.

Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer would have Arjun Rampal essaying the crook with a golden heart, a role immortalised by veteran actor Pran. Earlier, Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt were in the running for the role, but now Arjun would be the new Sher Khan of Bollywood.
