Bollywood just cannot get enough of the copying game, it seems. The Indian film industry has ripped off so many foreign movies in the past that it has almost ceased to amuse us now. But we still continue to report about the same since our viewers need to be woken up time and again about the fact that most of the content that they are watching, in the name of cinema, is not original. The latest rumours doing the rounds are about the upcoming Shahid-Priyanka starrer ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ being a copy of a Taiwanese movie ‘Three Times’.
Since the first trailer of the movie came out, internet world has been abuzz about the movie’s startling resemblance to the foreign movie. ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ has Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra playing lovers who meet each other only to part every time in three different eras: 1910, 1960 and 2012. The Taiwanese movie ‘Zui hao de shi guang’ (‘Three Times’) has similar plotline. That movie was released in 2005 to rave reviews. Director Kunal Kohli, however, has denied any such similarity.
