Zaheer Khan geared up for IPL challengeBangalore, Apr 6: Senior India pacer Zaheer Khan said he is looking forward to grind this IPL season with Royal Challengers Bangalore. With a strong bowling attack Zaheer Khan feels individual contribution is key to the team's success. "I like to keep things simple in any format of the game. As a bowler my look out will be to take wickets at any stage of the game. It helps restrict opponents from scoring at a brisk pace," he said after Royal Challengers Bangalore practice session at Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Thursday.

"Doesn't matter what kind of wicket you play on. It all boils down to how both teams are playing on that particular day and at the end of the day it is a pressure game," he said. "A team is a team. You look to contribute in whatever way possible," he said.

Speaking about Royal Challengers success in IPL this term, Zaheer said, "Over the last two years the team has been performing consistently well. Even this time, our expectation will be that we do well. Obviously with the arrival of Vinay Kumar our bowling unit has been strengthened. So, we expect a lot out of this tournament."

Despite being a long tournament, his fitness will be crucial. But Zaheer is ready for the grind. "I'm slowly building it up. It's been some good time off for me. I could iron out whatever niggles I had and yes, I'm looking forward to the grinding IPL season," he said. "I've just started bowling about a week back...just building it slowly. It's a long tournament so I don't want to rush things. I've been consulting the physio as well. It's just 20 overs...so that's way I can manage."
