Salman Khan: IPL no worry for Bollywood

B-town gold mine Salman Khan doesn't take the IPL as a threat to Bollywood. Citing the example of his own 'Biwi No.1' which was released during the 1999 World Cup and enjoyed success at the box office, Salman who yesterday called a press conference to announce his association with Yatra.com was quoted saying, "I don't think there will be any difference if you release your film during IPL. My film 'Biwi No. 1' was released during (1999) World Cup."

Though Salman loves cricket and wished the best will win, we are sure that Salman's assurance has pumped in more confidence in the producers who are releasing their flick during the IPL which starts from Wednesday April 4 and runs till May 27 - With nine teams and 76 games across 12 locations.

Bollywood this time has put up a brave fight with the cricket mania and is coming up with nine major releases starting with Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Housefull2' (April 6), actor John Abraham's maiden home production 'Vicky Donor' (April 20), Viacom 18 Motion Pictures' 'Bittoo Boss' (April 20) and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 'Ferrai Ki Sawari' (April 27).

And that's not all, Priyadarshan's action-thriller 'Tezz' (April 27), Emraan Hashmi-starrer 'Jannat 2' (May 4), Karisma Kapoor's comeback film 'Dangerous Ishq' (May 11), Yash Raj Films 'Ishaqzaade' (May 18) and Ram Gopal Varma's 'Department' (May 18) are all ready to take on the IPL season this time.So it's a double bonanza during the summer vacation season for all, if cricket fails then cinema is there to entertain and vice versa...
