Actor Ajay Devgn seems to have had a rather ‘holy’ start to his birthday today. Currently in Patiala for his home production, the actor got to visit and shoot at the Kali Mandir at the Quila Mubarak there, a day before his birthday. “Ajay is usually not too excited about celebrating his birthday, but visiting Patiala’s 250-year-old Quila Mubarak has really made it special for him this time around.

Being a true-blood Punjabi, he was absolutely thrilled to visit the holy place that has been blessed by Guru Gobind Singh (Sikh Guru) himself and houses an eternal flame that’s being kept burning for 250 years now,” says a source close to the actor.

“Ajay visited the Kali Mandir with his family and prayed to Goddess Kali before starting the day’s shoot. He felt very lucky to have been able to visit a place so revered by Punjabis and being one himself, this was a much cherished divine experience for him,” adds the source.

As for today, it will be a working birthday for Ajay, says the actor, but will also have him celebrate it in the evening with family. Wife Kajol has already flown down to Patiala with kids (Nysa and Yug) as well as Ajay’s parents to be present on his special day. “Yes, we will be shooting early in the day, but I’m looking forward to spending the day with my family, as soon as we wrap up the day’s shoot,” says Ajay, who has been shooting there for his action flick S.O.S Son of Sardaar for past several weeks now.

The actor, who’s also kicked about his return to action, has apparently decided to gift himself a film that will be directed by him. “He has been planning it for a long time now. He wants to direct an action thriller, but he’s been very caught up with shooting for all his films first Tezz, then Bol Bachchan and now Son of Sardar so he’s made a birthday resolution to begin work on his film soon,” reveals an insider.
