Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who’s been linked to filmmaker Sajid Khan in the past couple of months, has been dodging rumours of her engagement with him. Though they have been snapped together on several occasions, she refuses to talk about her personal life and denies all rumours linking her to Sajid.
“If I was in a relationship, there is no reason for me to want to deny it. Being in love is a beautiful feeling, and I would never be ashamed to accept it. But here, it is frustrating to keep answering to everyone. It gets embarrassing when strangers expect me to answer extremely personal questions like this. Also, it’s a bit too much to say that I am engaged and getting married. If and when that happens, I will personally invite everyone, but right now marriage is far, far away from the horizon,” says the Sri Lankan beauty.
So what’s the real equation with Sajid? “With friends, you have to be able to talk because unfortunately in our industry there is a lot of vindictiveness and gossip that goes around. Thankfully, Sajid and I are mature enough to pick up the phone and talk about it. We have a great understanding,” she clarifies.
Personal life aside, Jackie has been on a roll after the success of Murder 2. Besides the film offers, she’s also quite thrilled aboutbeing flooded with offers for item number. “I love item numbers and nowadays, they work really well for a film. I have been getting a lot of offers, but I don’t want to overdo it. I may take up more item numbers after some time.”
Theactor, who had a damp start to her career with her first two films faring badly at the box-office, is now working doubly hard to ensure everything works in her favour. She’s no longer intimidated by languge issues. “I have been working really hard on my Hindi and my accent. I have even taken to accepting my emails in Hindi, and now I can read and write quite a bit. Also, I have been learning one new word everyday, so keeping my fingers crossed for a long inning in B-Town,” she smiles.
