More than four years ago when John Abraham had success with Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, he was all praise for the film’s director, Vivek Agnihotri. However, the two are now on the war path, what with their films clashing at the box office. “Yes, it’s true,” confirms a trade expert.
“On the same day Vivek releases Hate Story, John has announced his debut production Vicky Donor. It’s a rather surprising development since the former was announced first. However, now that the plans are finalised, it is inevitable that John and Vivek themselves in an uncomfortable position.“
Any further delay would have made John’s film clash with the Indian Premier League. As for it’s arrival in June or later, it was almost impossible since Talaash, Rowdy Rathore and Shanghai are lined up for that period. John had no other choice but to bring out Vicky Donor now.”
Vivek and producer Vikram Bhatt are going all out to hype up the promotion of Hate Story. They are now set to unveil a hard-hitting promo that is said to boast a heavy dose of erotica and drama. John’s film, about a sperm donor (Ayushman Khurana), has already caught on since its promo was unveiled.
With a quirky comedy challenging the “most erotic Bollywood movie ever” (say the makers), it will be interesting to see who is the first to score a “goal”. Vivek was surprised when told about the battle: “Wow, I never realised this was happening. I am sure it is sheer coincidence.” Joginder Tuteja,
