From being bracketed in the sex-star image to finally breaking into the A-league, actor Emraan Hashmi reveals that his upward swing as an actor on the Bolly-list is making his birthday all the more special today. Hoping to take a day off from his back-to-back shoots, the actor is planning to take off to his farmhouse in Karjat today to celebrate it.

I’ve finally found my voice, says Emraan Hashmi$HOME$

“After a struggle of eight years, it feels like I’ve finally found my voice in the industry. I have found paths that I’ve always wanted to walk on ever since I became an actor,” he says. However, Emraan adds that he’s not bitter about his struggle and neither does he have any regrets. “Well, everyone’s life takes it’s own course and I am a firm believer in destiny, so I think I am happy with it charting a way for me. I certainly don’t want to change that,” he explains.

Talking about his sudden turn from doing sex-oriented roles to finding his name on the wish-list of some of the most respectable filmmakers in showbiz, Emraan says that there’s not been any one turning point. “Nothing’s happened overnight. There’s been more of an organic growth in my work as an actor. First, there was Murder, then Jannat that brought me back from the lull, then Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai — all helped me at those points in life,” he says.

Excited about the success of his recent films, Emraan is not upset with his past failures either. “My failures kept me grounded, but my success made me feel it was all worth it, so I have nothing to complain,” says the actor who is now looking forward to films including Jannat 2, Ghanchakkar, Shanghai, Daayan and Raaz 3 amongst others.
