One of 2012’s most-awaited films starring actors Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, Talaash has been postponed yet again. The reason cited for pushing the release of the film, from June to November, is apparently the actor’s debut TV show, which he reportedly wants to focus on.
Curiously though, the timing of this news had broken out just around the release of actor Vidya Balan’s recent film Kahaani. But if sources are to be believed, it may not be Aamir’s TV show that has delayed the project. Buzz is that the basic plot of his film is apparently a wee bit similar to Vidya’s film, and hence, he wanted to tweak the climax.
An insider says, “The film was almost ready for release as the shooting of the film was complete and even major post production job was done. But it’s a suspense-thriller where the plot of the film is crucial for the film’s success. So when Kahaani released, which is also a thriller, it’s storyline seemed kind of similar to Talaash’s, which is again a story based on the search of a missing person.
So, even if the film is different in terms its plot, Aamir apparently wants to change the climax, make it crispier and edgier. Being the perfectionist that he is, Aamir is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his film has something new to offer to his audience. A gap between two films of the same genre is also crucial. If the release time between these films is less, it could adversely affect his film, hence the decision of postponing the film was for the best.”
But the trade is also abuzz with the fact that the film’s release has been delayed more than once. “The film was first to release in December 2011, which later got rescheduled to June 2012. The makers had also planned to release the film’s trailer first with Don 2 in December 2011, but that too didn’t happen; it was later released in January 2012 with Agneepath. And now buzz is, Talaash is scheduled to release on November 30th. And this time, the makers are ensuring that they keep to the date, come what may,” adds a source. Sources claim that Aamir’s also making sure that his TV show’s schedule and the schedule to apparently reshoot the film’s climax does not clash.
