Newbie Pulkit Sharma and Kumar Mangat’s daughter Amita Pathak stalled a local wedding in Shimla while shooting Bittoo Boss, the latest project from the makers of Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011). Debutant director Supavitra Babul was canning a key scene of the film in a hotel in the hill station, close to where the real celebrations were going on. He says, “Since the sound outside was loud, we couldn’t shoot. Pranksters Amita and Pulkit went to the wedding posing as reality show hosts. They asked everyone to stop the band from playing and took interviews of both sides of the family present for about three hours till we completed the scene.”

Amita, however, pleads innocence saying that it would have been awkward to tell them to stop the wedding because a movie scene was being shot in the next hotel. She says, “This way, we just kept them busy. We told them the truth after the scenes were shot and the family was pretty angry, but the couple saved us.” Did they make it up to the family and the couple whose wedding they crashed? She says, “As a gift, we presented them with the footage of their family’s interviews.” Lead actor Pulkit adds, “We captured beautiful moments that they can rewind and keep watching over the years. We also asked for their forgiveness for gate-crashing their party.” The film hits theatres on April 13.
