The fact that Salman Khan is the most bankable star in Bollywood is known to all, but we even have the figures to turn it into a fact now. The recent report of the satellite rights of ‘Dabangg 2’ being sold for a whopping Rs 42 cr is all over the media, which is actually the highest figure ever paid for a single movie! But now, sources have revealed that the producers of the movies, namely, Rowdy Rathore, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Paan Singh Tomar and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, have sold the satellite rights of all the four as a package deal for a reported sum of merely Rs 56 cr.
This sum is almost equal to the selling price of one Salman Khan movie. This news, if not officially, instates him at the podium of superstardom. Sources also claim that though Salman may be the biggest star around, but the satellite prices are outrageously expensive. If we go by the prices of their films, Salman’s value is almost equal to that of Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Irrfan and Riteish Deshmukh combined. That virtually tells us that the ‘Dabangg’ Khan is equivalent to the whole of Bollywood industry in terms of market value. Some exaggerated prices, but such is the stardom of Salman.
