After a hiatus of four years, the versatile actor-turned-politician-turned-actor again, Govinda, is ready to make a comeback with a film titled ‘Avatar.’ The movie will be directed by his mentor and producer friend Pahlaj Nihalani (‘Talaash,’ ‘Dil Tera Diwana’) who is making his debut behind the camera.
But it seems the toughest challenge for Govinda will be getting toned for the role (after all, he isn't known as the fittest actor around!) as he plays a footballer in the thriller. Shooting for the movie has begun in Mumbai and along with Govinda his other co-star Yashpal Sharma was also spotted dribbling a ball.
After a string of indifferent films, Govinda, sources say is showing a lot of enthusiasm in the project. Firstly, the actor is kicked about collaborating with Pahlaj with whom he had given a lot of hits such as ‘Shola Aur Shabnam,’ and ‘Aankhen’ in the '90s. Secondly he lost over 28 kilos for the role. Thirdly he apparently underwent a hair transplant to look convincing enough to play the part.
On his part, Pahlaj said he hopes with ‘Avatar’, Govinda and he will prove to be lucky for each other once again after all these years. Let’s hope that Pahlaj holds this belief and doesn’t come across the old proverb ‘If wishes were horses…’
