Amitabh Bachchan lends voice to animated Bheeshma Pitamah

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, whose baritone is well-known, has lent his voice and face to the iconic character of Bheeshma Pitamah in an upcoming animation film Mahabharat. Produced by PEN India, the Hindi film is a 50-crore project with voices from 15 major Bollywood stars. The characters from the epic will also look like the stars dubbing for them.

"Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice to the role of Bheeshma Pitamah in our animated Mahabharat. He finished the entire recording in one hour, which was very shocking for us. "He has such a command over the language that he even corrected minor grammatical mistakes in the dialogues," producer Jayantilal Gada from PEN India told PTI.

"There are 15 major Bollywood stars involved with the project. Each character has been made to look like the actor dubbing for it," he added. Bachchan, 69, did the recording free of cost. "He did not charge us for his work. Our entire team is grateful to him. We could not have done the film without him as we can't imagine any other voice for the role of Bheeshma Pitamah," Gada added. Sunny Deol has recorded for the role of Bheem. The other Bollywood names involved with the film are still under wraps. The film is slated for an October release.
