Noted young actress, Mallika, whose role in 'Byari', which won the National award for best film, received the jury's special mention, said she would like to act in both art and commercial films and also try her luck in Bollywood. She also would not shy away from acting in glamorous roles, Mallika told a meet-the-press programme of the Press Club here today.
On the award, she said it came as a real surprise, though she had fervently hoped that the film would get the honour because it was made with such great difficulty by a bunch of people who put their everything into it. Mallika said that she was not shy away from acting in glamorous roles, and would like to try her luck in Bollywood too. The film, 'Byari' by K P Suveeran, which shared the national award for best film with Marathi film 'Deool', is about conditioning of women in the Byari muslim community based on sexuality.
